Roundup Cafe

Finding places to eat in Bangalore isn’t a tough task, you have so many places to explore and visit. But, there is one tough decision to always make, where to go? This happens to me almost every time I am trying to decide a place, open Zomato and be like, been here, too far off, reviews not good, will close by the time I reach, too many people would be there, close app in disappointment. Try asking a friend, where to go and the response would be like “you tell me”, and boom, back to open Zomato app and search.

It was one of those days, driving around with the Zomato app open and figuring out a place for dinner and this is when I came across a new place in Koramangala called Roundup Café. The pictures tempted me to check this place out and with the help of Google Maps I was there in no time. It is a very cute place, with the options of a smoking and a non-smoking zone. Air conditioned seating and outdoor seating makes it a really interesting mix of ambiance with cute little decors like bird cages and amazing couches to sit on. This café also has a boutique that is worth checking out for all the fashionista’s out there.

Now getting to the food and the drinks, the café has some interesting things to offer, the menu has wide range of options to choose from, the service is very friendly and fast, the food has a unique twist that makes the experience a really memorable one. So for drinks, me and my best one, ordered a Fruit Punch and a hot cup of Tea. I was really not expecting the Fruit Punch to be so different from the one’s I have always had for so many years. This drink did not have actual fruits in it, rather it is made up of fruit jellies and Pomegranate seeds and I must say the taste is as unique as it could ever be. Now, would everyone enjoy it? I wouldn’t think so, this will have mixed reviews. Not many can go wrong with the Tea though, loved the strong flavour.

For Small Plates, we had the Nutty Croquettes with Peri Peri Mayo, these are well fried chicken with a coating of nuts and with the combination of the Peri Peri Mayo, clearly was a winner. Fish Finger with Pickled Relish Mayo, yes, they do have more than just a single type of Mayo to keep us all happy.  These fingers were absolutely delicious and one serving of the Mayo was not enough, we needed more of it, kudos to the chef for not making it a disaster.

Spaghetti with Chicken Meat balls

Spaghetti with Chicken Meat balls was my choice for Main Course and this dish gave me mixed signals, I did not enjoy the combination of sauce and the cheese considering the meat balls tasted real nice. I would prefer that one keeps to the basics of the dish because, this particular dish needs to have its basics right, having said that, it is not wrong to experiment but sometimes one may not have the best outcome. There is so much more to explore on the Menu and I would love to come back and try everything, it is important to try something new and I am glad that this place has a lot of uniqueness because who wants to always have the same dish every single day.

Do visit the place, they are really nice people and you can find them on #20, Sai Nivas, 1st A Main Road, KHB Colony, Koramangala 5th Block, Bangalore.
