Writers Café in Gopalapuram, Chennai is a must visit for all the café and book lovers. The Higginbotham’s store in the café has a wide collection of books, some rare and some exclusive books as well. They are for sale along with some cute stationery products that they have in store. It was indeed a great stress buster to spend some time at Writers café.
The Croissant was soft and semi crunchy and since it was a plain croissant there was nothing much to look forward to. Unfortunately, they were no varieties to this as they were all sold out by evening.
Jalapeno Poppers were stuffed with cheese and fresh jalapenos. They were fried nicely, and the insides were cooked properly without burning them or roasting them. The Mayo sauce along with the dish was tasty as well, and it comes with a few veggies on the side.
Cappuccino was strong, well presented to us as well. The sugar content was low and hence they had provided extra sugar sachets to make it as per our needs.
Swiss Hot Chocolate was the highlight of my day at Writers Café. The hot chocolate could not have been better and tastier than this. Freshly made and beautifully presented, this indeed is one to watch out for while you visit this place.
Café Mocha had the right amount of chocolate to make it a good latte. Sometimes it is hard to get the combination right, but Writers Café nailed it right with this one. The sugar was non-existent but thanks to the sugar sachets that was not much of an issue.
The Masala Chai was a disappointment though. There was not enough of the masala powder and the milk sort of overpowered the taste of the entire cup of tea, would have been better if there was more of the tea powder and less milk.
The ambiance of the place is beautiful, has a nice bakery, café, and a library presence to the store. The staff is very friendly as well, at the end of the day I am sure you will walk out of here with a smile on your face.
