There are many authentic Andhra cuisines in Bengaluru and Menaka Foods is the latest addition to this bunch. Menaka foods is in the hub of Jayanagar and this is the place to be if you are shopping around in the streets of Jayanagar. We visited Menaka Foods when they were relatively new, and we did not have the chance to explore their complete menu.
For starters we had the Andhra Chilli Chicken, filled with green chilies and was a semi gravy starter. The dish was particularly good in terms of taste and the chicken was cooked properly.
The chicken biryani was overpowered with extra masala, something I was not expecting. In fact, the style of biryani is much different than what you usually get in the Andhra restaurants. It is more towards the style of white rice mixed with masala and added with chicken pieces that is cooked separately.
The last dish we had was the Chicken Boneless Biryani. This is basically where they top the biryani with boneless chicken like that of Chicken 65 and serve it in a bowl. This was much better than the normal biryani because the boneless chicken was well balanced in terms of spiciness and flavor.
