Lama’s Café in HSR Layout, Bengaluru is the latest entrant to the world of Darjeeling cuisine. A small cozy café serving some of the best food, with an amazing staff is the place you should be visiting soon. Parking is available right opposite to the café and one can sit and enjoy some delicious momos, and thukpa. We had the following while we were at Lama’s Cafe.
Chicken Steam momo was very different from what we had before, the filling was nicely cooked and moderately spicy as well. The chutney provided along with this dish was peanut based and mildly spicy as well.

We then tried the Chicken Jhol Momo, which is a famous Nepali dish. This dish has a soupy base which consists of masalas, tomatoes, onions, and chilies. The chicken steam momos are added to this base to make a soup version and I must say this was very tasty and the trick is to have the momo soak in the soupy masala for as long as possible to enhance the taste of the momo.

For the main course we started with Chicken Thukpa, which is a popular dish over here. The noodles and the meat was perfectly cooked, the spices were on spot, and the quantity was massive.

The other main course dish was the Chicken Fried Rice. The rice was well cooked, the sauces were in perfect blend with the nicely chopped veggies, and one can have this without any curry on the side. The schezwan sauce was noticed with every spoon we had and that was very satisfying indeed.

Lama’s Café in in the basement and it does not have the fanciest of ambiances, but they do have a friendly staff, and they do serve some delicious food. You can find them at 2735, 16th Cross, 27th Main, Sector 1, Opposite NIFT College Gate, HSR, Bangalore.
