“Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.” -Gustav Flaubert
To travel the world is indeed an illusion that everyone dreams about. We always think about what could be done in the future, the moments we would want to change or erase in the past, but little do we ever think about what we can do at this very moment. The Present, is indeed the most precious moment that one has, and for me at this very moment, all I want to do, is to travel to many places and to taste as many dishes as possible. For all I know, there may never be a tomorrow.
Hi, this is Amith Kumar, and this is my journey of the food my tummy has given shelter to, and the beautiful images that my eyes have seen in the past two and a half decades.
Now let me take a moment and explain the title of this blog. Ondu full meals is a most common term used in Karnataka while ordering for a full course meal. OMR stands for Old Monk Rum, arguably the most local and common liquor that is sold in the state, and finally “mattu Prayana” means “and travel”. These three elements combine to form my Elixir of Life.
